Dear Allison and Greg,
I am very sorry to hear that your father passed away.
That makes me really sad.
I liked your parents very much and I think of them a lot.
The last time I wrote with him was at his birthday, when he told me about his condition. He also told me that he very much loved the times he spent with you and your boys and with Allison and her family. He also wrote how proud he was of his grandchildren.
Your father was a very kind and active man.
Hearing the sad news made me think of all the good times I had with you and your parents during my two stays with you, the one in Wilton during my students exchange and the other one in Atlanta and Georgetown.
I very much enjoyed these stays and I am so happy that I could experience your company and friendly hospitality.
I also remember the two times my late parents and Norbert and Nadine met your parents during their stays in Cologne.
Losing a parent is always sad but when the last one goes is special.
For me it felt like the last connection to childhood had gone.
I wish you, your boys, Allison and her family that you get through this difficult time together.
We are thinking of you a lot.
Claudia, Norbert and Nadine Neuhaus
