Imam Hamin Rasool

RASOOL, Imam Hamin - Age 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at McLaren - Flint. Family hour 7:00 AM Saturday, November 15, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with Islamic service commencing at 7:30 AM. Interment Flint Memorial Cemetery, 9506 N. Dort Hwy, Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 7:00 AM Saturday.

Hamin Rasool was born December 2, 1945, in Grove Hill, Alabama, the son of Katie Edgar. He was a longtime resident of Flint, Michigan. Hamin was employed at General Motors Corporation for 30 plus years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and Grand Master in the art of Wing Chun, and creator of Rasool's Kung Fu System. Hamin was a Religious Leader of Mu'min Islamic Center, Inc, Flint, Michigan. He was a dedicated and disciplined Muslim and Creator of the "Lifeline" to continue the legacy of Imam W. Deen Mohammed (Muslim American Society Leader).

Hamin Rasool leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Tahera Rasool of Flint; 2 daughters, Khadijah (Salih) Baity of Westland, MI and Carmen Fortenberry of Ypsilanti, MI; 2 sons, Eric Rasool of Lansing, MI and Hamin Rasool II of Flint; 3 step-children, Fred Banks of Flint, Larry (Jihan) Young II of Portage, MI and Omari Young MD of Boston, MA; sister, Mary Taite of Grove Hill, AL; brother, George Edgar of San Antonio, TX; aunt, Willie Catherine Johnson of Flint; 5 sisters-in-law, Pearl Frazier of Sharpeburg, GA, Maryam Muhammad, Ann Whatley, both of Flint, Shahidah Rasool of Flushing, MI and Willie Pearl Hicks of Cleveland, OH; 3 brothers-in-law, Thomas Taite of Grov Hill, AL, Forrest Hicks of Cleveland, OH and Khalil Muhammad ; a host of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends including the entire Muslim Community.

Hamin was preceded in death by his mother, Katie Edgar; brother, Arif Rasool; previous wife, Hamidah Rasool; and mother-in-law, Louelle Hicks (Richardson).
