Hans Henry Rummel was born on September 25, 1951, in
Oberlin, Kansas, and passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 74.
Hans made his home in
Bartlesville, Oklahoma, for over 45 years. He met Erlinda, in 1978, and they were married on June 2, 1979, in Pueblo, Colorado. Together, they raised a son and daughter in Oklahoma.
Hans was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on October 15, 1969. Motivated by his deep love for Jehovah, he served as a regular pioneer before spending a year as a volunteer at the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in Brooklyn, New York. During his time there, he frequently wrote letters not only to his family but also to many friends-sharing encouragement, humor, and spiritual thoughts that reflected his caring nature.
Hans was known for being kind, helpful, respectful, and deeply protective of those he loved. With his friendly nature, he could talk to anyone, and many remember him as a true social butterfly. If you managed to make him laugh, his laugh was unmistakable-full, hearty, and contagious.
For 30 years, Hans managed the GNC health store in the Bartlesville mall. He took great satisfaction in helping people improve their well-being, often sharing the results of his personal research into health, wellness, and supplements. His home library was extensive, a testament to his love of learning and his habit of diving deeply into any subject that caught his interest.
Hans enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with family. He also liked playing cards and games, often turning ordinary evenings into moments of joy and connection. Above all, he treasured his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and he faithfully kept in touch with his parents throughout their lives.
Hans is preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Ila Rummel of Atwood, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Erlinda; his siblings and spouses, Fritz and Denice Rummel, Yvonne Rummel, and Hannah and Steve Dresser; his son, Caleb, and wife, Hannah Joy Rummel; and his daughter, Kandice Brooke Cleaver. His grandchildren-Ethan Owens, Jesse Owens, Michael Rummel, Brittanie Rummel, Alysa and husband Dondi Pippin, and Seth Cleaver-along with his great-grandchildren, Sky Pippin and George Pippin. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. They will always carry his memory in their hearts. Hans will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6720 SE Adams Blvd.,
Bartlesville, OK 74006. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Davis, Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com
