Harlan Cuevas, age 78, a native of the Necaise Crossing Community, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Harlan is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ruby Saxon Cuevas; his parents, Rudolph and Evelyn Shiyou Cuevas; brothers, Hubert Cuevas, Walter Cuevas, R.C. Cuevas, Horace Cuevas, and Morris Cuevas; sisters, Hilma Cuevas, Dorothy Mills, Doris Ladner, and Verline Bosarge.

He is survived by his children, Melissa (Matthew) Martin, Sherry (Phillip) Petty, and Christopher Cuevas; grandchildren, Preston Martin, Justin Martin, Taylor Cobb (Dalton Evans), Brody Cobb, Aubrey Cox, Maverick Petty, Lincoln Petty, Kiley Cuevas, and Madison Cuevas; one God-child, Pamela Ladner, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harlan was employed as a Longshoreman with the Local ILA 795 and Local 1303 and retired after 29 years.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, farming, bingo, card games, wrestling, vintage and fast cars, and truly loved being with his family and friends.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved and lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at Pass Christian Health and Rehabilitation and Gentiva Hospice for being so kind and compassionate during his final days.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home 9113 Kiln-Delisle Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571 with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM and the funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Rotten Bayou Cemetery.
