Harmon C Brown, Jr

Naples - Harmon Clifford Brown Jr. of Naples, Florida and St Helena, California passed away on December 1, 2025, surrounded by love.

From the flower farms of Bogota, Colombia to the mountains of Telluride, Colorado and onto the vineyards of the Napa Valley, he practiced his belief in repotting several times in one's life. He engaged with people from all walks of life along his journey and in doing so, enriched the lives of everyone around him.

Harmon was born on May 9, 1933, in Riverside, California to Julia Frost and Harmon Clifford Brown Sr. He grew up in southern California and graduated from Stanford University.

He started his career in the financial world and became a pioneer in the wholesale flower business in Bogota. He fell in love with the mountains of Telluride and relocated there where he founded Harmon's Restaurant. It became synonymous with fine dining, wine and warm ambiance. People gathered there to meet friends and share stories. Here he met Joanne and the two of them moved to the Napa Valley to begin producing their own wine.

As time passed, they moved part time to Naples Florida where he enjoyed his love of the beach and longtime love of tennis.

Harmon is survived by his wife Joanne, children, Allyson Becker, Lesley (Paul) Robert, stepchildren Jennifer (Dave) Pisani, Joshua (Amanda) Corzine and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Sanford Brown.

Harmon cherished his relationships with friends and had a rare ability to make others feel seen, welcomed and valued. His presence made rooms warmer, conversations richer and ordinary days brighter.

When asked how he was, he always responded, "never better."
