Harold “Dennis” Austin, age 59, husband of Teresa Hazel Austin, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at his home.
He was born on February 3, 1966 in Clinton, South Carolina and was the son of the late Harold L. Austin and Emily M. Adams Austin. Dennis was a truck driver for Renfro and mechanic and wrecker driver for Bigham’s Garage. He was the Fire Chief with Joanna Fire Department from 1995 – 1998 and a volunteer with the Clinton Fire Department for many years. His favorite hobbies were working on cars and being a mechanic.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 30 years, his son, Steven Shannon Frazier of the home; his daughter, Sharon Lynn Lindler (Daniel) of Whitmire; his sisters, Kathy Cantor (Jeff) of Ocala, FL and Joan Danley (Jeff) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Tyler Frazier (Skylar), Bradley Frazier (Hailey), Susanna Frazier, Shanna Prather, J.T. Prather, Allie Prather and all of his loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Mark Entrekin officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked for memorials to Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue Greenwood, SC 29646.
