Harold L. Bauer, born August 19, 1935 to Mathew and Stella Bauer of So. St. Paul, MN. He passed away at Fairview Hospital, Wyoming, MN on November 22, 2025 at the age of 90. Harold was a beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, who loved and lived for his family. Family gatherings were a highlight of his life, that and sharing good times with dear friends.
As a young man he began trade school for Pipefitting and built his career to the commercial side of pipe and steam fitting, boilers, heating and air. In the 70's he opened Combustion, Heat and Power, Inc. and was a successful business owner until he retired in North Branch in the early 2000's.
In his youth he enjoyed skiing, motorcycles, horses, musical instruments, singing and more. He married his sweetheart Eileen Patricia Amon in 1952. They had five children together. He was a jack of all trades, nothing was too big for him to take on. He remodeled many homes and built one, he converted a school bus into an RV, built trailers, a sled for his snowmobile for the children, made a hunting shack out of a refer trailer, welding and so much more. He enjoyed skeet shooting, hunting, fishing, dancing and motorized everything. He even built a backyard ice rink for his children while residing in No. St. Paul.
In 1960 he purchased hunting/recreational land in Greaney, MN. He and his son Matt, built a cabin that is still enjoyed by Matthew's family. Harold took great joy calling this his Legacy to his family. Many years were spent enjoying the great northern park-like atmosphere they built together there. He always said a family that plays together, stays together.
Harold was a conservative man and man of strong faith. He lived independently until the end, and said he was ready to go home to Jesus. Having met all his goals, he now rests peacefully with the Lord.
Harold is survived by his daughter's Holly (Curt) Zellmer, Denise Bauer of Texas, and daughter in law Lorrie Bauer, grandchildren Nikki (Eric) Peterson, Jillian (Ben) Aschittino, Hope (Tony) Denn, Colton (Lexy) Bauer, and Paige Bauer and great grandchildren Trenton Setterstrom, Rae Aschittino, and Mitchell Aschittino. Sister MaryAnn Marty, sister in law Mary Campbell, Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Harold is preceded in death by his wife Eileen, daughter's Pamela Ketcher, and Cherie Lee, son Matthew and grandson Vince Zellmer.
Harold was loved by all and will be missed dearly. Please join us for his Celebration of Life at the North Branch Legion (6439 Elm St) North Branch, MN 55056 from 2 pm – 6 pm on Sunday January 11, 2026.
