Harold Carter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory - Branson on Feb. 16, 2026.
Harold Lloyd "Hal" Carter, Jr. was born December 7, 1951 in Prescott, Maine. He entered into rest on February 11, 2026 at his home in Branson at the age of 74.

Hal was a resilient, thoughtful and contemplative man. His passion for knowledge and understanding was evident through his work as an author and publisher. He often spent time in meditation studying the Bible for a deeper understanding of Heaven and to strengthen his relationship with God. He was a member of the Hollister Church of Christ and loved his church family.

Arizona's natural landscape served as the perfect backdrop for Hal's love of the outdoors, a place where he spent happy times outdoors. His hobbies included fishing with friends and his wife, breathing life into classic cars, or searching for hidden gems in thrift and bin stores, always finding contentment in the simple pleasures of life. He loved Westerns. He loved the cowboy nostalgia of a simpler yet courageous way of life, often commenting how he could have lived during such an era.

The joy he had for life was especially evident in the time he spent with friends and family. Janice was the love of his life. He is survived by his cherished wife Janice and his bonus family whom he loved, his step-son Scott and grandchildren, Jax and Jacob. Harold always looked forward to playing checkers with Jacob or helping the grandsons work on their dirt bikes.

He will be deeply missed and remembered for his love, intellect, and faith.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Hollister Church of Christ at 11:00 am with Mike Brower officiating.
