Harold Duncan Harness

Harold Duncan Harness of Baltimore, formerly of BelAir, died Thursday, May 7 at Oakcrest Village. He was 97. Born in Emden, MO he was the son of the late Arthur and Nellie (Turner) Harness. His wife Elvera (Humm) Harness died in 1998. Mr. Harness retired as an auditor for the Federal Government at APG and was a retired Chief Warrant Officer for the US Army. He belonged to the Retired Officers Association. NARFE # 1770, AARP, Sons of the American Revolution Aquillo Hall Chapter, the National and Illinois Genealogical Societies, and the American Legion Post #39. He is survived by his son Kenneth D. Harness of Baltimore; two daughters Barbara O. Schemmel of Minster, OH and Nellie E. Coakley of Canton, NY; nine grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a sister Helen O. Harness. A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A. on Sunday, May 10 from 2-5pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Oakcrest Village on Monday, May 11 at 10am. Interment with full military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery on August 20, 2009 at 11am.
