Harold Harrison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home - Braintree on Jan. 23, 2026.
Harold Leroy Harrison Jr., age 72, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1953.

Harold was the cherished husband of the late Linda Zverina, whose memory he carried close to his heart following her passing. His greatest pride and joy were his daughters, Natasha Anderson (married to Monte Anderson) of Holbrook, and Lillian Kramer (married to Sean Kramer) of Abington. Harold embraced his role as "Grandada" with great enthusiasm, showering love and affection on his grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Gabriella, Elizabeth, and Josephine.

Harold was the son of the late Harold Harrison Sr. and the late Dorothy Phillips. He shared a lifelong home and bond with his younger brother, the late David Harrison. In addition to Harold's two daughters, he is survived by David's daughters-his nieces-Ebony and Christine.

As a child, Harold was studious and curious, with a love for comic books and reading. He delighted in caring for a wide variety of pets (from lizards and hamsters to cats), he enjoyed spending time with his mother, and he took great pleasure in teasing his younger brother, David.

Harold was educated at Boston Latin Academy, a selective school known for its high academic standards, and later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he earned a degree in Organic Chemistry. He went on to teach computer courses at MIT and then worked as a software engineer for a pioneering technology company. In the 1980's computer technology was significantly advancing and he would boast that he was one of the founding fathers of what is now the internet.

Later in life, Harold enjoyed different professional paths. He pursued entrepreneurial initiatives in the computer field and founded his own business called Harrison Associates. He concluded his employment in security services.

Harold had a deep love of knowledge and information and especially valued the rigor of debate, thoughtful discourse, and the exploration of theory. Naturally drawn to mathematics and science, he often described himself as an analyst, skilled at synthesizing complex data.

Beyond academics, Harold had many passions. He enjoyed both on-line and off-line gaming. He had a deep love and appreciation for music across many genres, he was an accomplished bowler of candlepin, and was an avid fan of science fiction across books, movies, and television. He truly loved exploring new culinary horizons and sharing his discoveries with family. His expertise in chemistry not only contributed to his academic success but also to his appreciation of the intricate flavors and textures in the dishes he enjoyed and occasionally crafted himself. He also held a particular fondness for European dragons. Above all, Harold cherished time spent with his family-especially moments shared with his beloved wife, Linda.

Harold was a generally happy-and even at times, silly-person who found joy in everyday moments. He was widely known as easygoing and mild-mannered.

In his later years, Harold spent much time reflecting and sharing life with his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. He often said he was the luckiest man in the world to have a loving, supportive family and found great comfort in knowing his daughters had devoted partners. He remained profoundly grateful to his mother for instilling in him a commitment to excellence, and to his wife, Linda, for her unconditional love and care.
