HAROLD W. JENNEJOHN, age 87, of Thorp, WI, passed away at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp, on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Thorp Funeral Home in Thorp, with Dr. James Bryan officiating. Harold Walter Jennejohn was born on February 5, 1938 in the Town of Easton, Kenosha County, WI, one of 16 children born to Carl H. and Edna W. (Redlin) Jennejohn. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Town of Maine, Marathon County, WI. He was united in marriage to Amelie Wimmer, and together they had two children. They later divorced. Harold then moved to Montana and Wyoming where he was a ranch hand with his horse, Babe. He met Mary L. (Whittenberger) Ewer while they were working for A&P Enterprise, and they were united in marriage on December 22, 1973 in Neillsville, WI. They resided south of Thorp for several years while Harold worked for the Lato Corporation. In 1981, they moved to Bella Vista, AR where he ran an upholstery business and lawn care business. After retiring, they moved back to Wisconsin and lived near Lublin where he spent time working with his leather crafts, woodworking, and upholstery. They spent countless hours fishing and loved to be outdoors.
He always had a deck of cards within reach. Time could get away from him playing Solitaire, it's the one thing he still had in the last years, time. Dementia takes so much away, but his joyful sense of humor never left. He would joke around and give everyone a hard time just to get them to smile and lighten their day.
Harold is survived by nine children: Juanita Jerome of Chippewa Falls, WI, Peggy (Paul) Sinn of Cadott, WI, Charles Ewer of Marshfield, WI. Pattie Klapatauskas of Hopkinsville, KY, Cindy Kubitz of Shakopee, MN, Ronald (Lisa) Ewer of Hopkinsville, KY, Mary (Kevin) Eichelt of Lublin, WI, Roger Ewer of Medford, WI, and Jennie Jennejohn of Springfield, MO; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, LouAnn Ewer of Marshfield, WI, one sister, Anita; one brother, Butch; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, on December 25, 2020; three sons: Harold Jennejohn, Jr., Mike Ewer and Kenneth Ewer; one grandson, Justin Eichelt; seven sisters and six brothers.
