H. Kent Scott 85 of Harrisburg SD, Duluth MN, and now Markesan WI passed away peacefully on his 85th birthday – 10/17/25. He was blessed with heavenly expectation without pain or angst.

Kent grew up in Harrisburg, SD, eventually moving to Sioux Falls, SD, then to Kaukauna WI, Atlanta GA, and then Duluth, MN. As a heavy road, bridge building superintendent he initially worked for Kewitt Construction, then Dave Gustafson in Sioux Falls, and then finished his construction career with Lunda Construction based in Black River Falls, WI. After retiring from Lunda, he showcased his construction prowess as a self-employed contractor. He also partnered with his wife, Corinne Scott in creating and distributing Living Stones News, a Christian periodical for many years. He faithfully served the churches he attended as an usher among other things, including Bayside Baptist in Superior WI, Christian Missionary Alliance in Appleton WI, and Lynwood Wesleyan in Sioux Falls, SD.

He was a competitor with fervor and persistence. He enjoyed basketball, softball, bowling, golfing, and traveling. He loved the Lord, family, church, and friends. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Grace Scott, sisters, Carmen and Sharon, wife, Corinne Scott (Doty), and his daughter, Kamala Scott who also passed away on his birthday in 2022. He is survived by his son, Keldon Scott (Sandra Scott, grandchildren Aaron Scott (Melanie Scott) and Adam Scott (Carrie Martin and three great grandchildren: Bennett, Walter, and Lila Scott), his sisters, Veronica Stoneall and Dorene Gaard (Jim) and close sister-in-law, Anita Nelson (Jim).

Dad wants everyone to know the peace he had through Jesus. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). He is happy crossing the Jordan and reuniting with those who went ahead of him, especially his wife and daughter. His faith was lived out, and death had no sting on him!

A celebration of Kent’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Markesan Community Funeral Home 868 N. Margaret Street, Markesan, WI 53946. Cards or messages may be sent to 605 S. Capitol Ave. Lansing MI 48933 – any gifts will be given in memory of Kent Scott to SSM Health at Home 745 South Street Suite 4 Green Lake, WI 54941 and Barrett House 185 East John Street Markesan, WI 53946.
