Harold Fredrick Last

Harold Fredrick Last, of Verona, Wisconsin, age 87, passed away on December 27, 2025.

Harold was born on November 15, 1938, to Herbert Otto Last and Elsie Frieda (Schmidt) Last in Grafton, WI. After graduating from Grafton High School in 1956, he went on to study architecture at Marquette University.

Harold married Judith Ann "Judy" (Driedric) on August 24, 1963. Together, they followed Harold's building career through Indiana, New York, and Pennsylvania before returning home in Wisconsin. They settled in Waupaca, where they raised their three children: Todd, Timothy, and Tracey. Harold worked for various builders throughout his career before starting his own architectural services company, Last Design Services, where he worked until his retirement. His love of architecture lives on in the many homes he designed.

In 2022, Harold and Judy moved to Verona, WI, to fully retire and to be closer to family.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Harold was the heart of every gathering. He loved the outdoors, a competitive game of cards, and a good Old Fashioned shared with family and friends. Harold will be fondly remembered for his essential holiday duties as the master peeler for Thanksgiving apple pies and the official cookie tester every Christmas.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his three children, Todd (spouse Paul Flavion) of Austin, TX; Timothy of Verona, WI, and Tracey of Milwaukee, WI; and his two granddaughters, Abigail and Kelsey of Madison, WI along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father Herbert, his mother Elsie; and his sisters, Doris and Laura.

The family invites friends and family to join them in a celebration of Harold's life at Ryan Funeral Home, 220 Enterprise Drive, Verona, on January 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
