Harold M. O'Bryon

Harold M. "Peanuts" O'Bryon, also affectionally known as Uncle Peanie to his nephews and nieces, 89, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation in Canonsburg, with his family at his side. He was born January 18, 1936, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Claude and Elizabeth Daugherty O'Bryon. Harold was a 1953 graduate of Canonsburg High School. He then worked as a service technician for the former Texaco and Sunoco gas stations in Canonsburg and Washington. He retired from the parts department of Millcraft Industries. Mr. O'Bryon was a member of the Chartiers-Hill United Presbyterian Church. Harold was an avid car racing fan, enjoyed cutting grass and loved his dogs. On June 24, 1957, he married Joyce E. Byrd who died December 13, 2022. Surviving are two daughters, Amy Sablo (the late Dennis) of Morgan and Mary Beth DeGennaro of Washington; three grandchildren, Alan DeGennaro (Mary), Jesse DeGennaro (fiancee Aria Graham) and Stephanie O'Bryon (Amanda Dino); three great-grandchildren: Hudson and Jack DeGennaro and Aiden Dino; two sisters, Millie Kobertz (Richard) of Canonsburg and Lorraine Bracewell of Clarkston, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Dolores O'Bryon Danzinger (Elmer) of McDonald; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are a son, Jeffrey O'Bryon; and a brother, James O'Bryon. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner / Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston PA 15342. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, in the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Rd., Canonsburg, PA 15342, with the Reverend Peggy Shannon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church.
