Harold Reed Obituary
Jacksonville - Harold L. Reed, 84, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab.
He was born Nov. 30, 1940, in Nortonville, the son of Leonard L. and Hazel P. (Martin) Reed. He married Mary Lou Ford in Las Vegas, NV, and she survives.
He is also survived by his son, Scott (Lisa) Reed of Jacksonville; four step children, Teri (Chris) McMinn of Jacksonville, Rick Crawford (companion, Stacy Daniels) of Roodhouse, Tim (Kitty) Crawford of Godfrey and Kim (J.R.) Schutz of Patterson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Phyllis (Ron) Lacy and Doris Arnold (deceased husband, Larry).
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Mindy DeGroot.
Harold was a 1958 graduate of Waverly High School. He retired from Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville. He then went to work for Tyco Plastics and Adhesives in Sioux Falls, SD before being transferred to Texas, where he later retired from Tyco. Following his retirement, Harold and Mary Lou returned to Jacksonville and continued to spend winters in Texas. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be sent at airsman-hires.com.
