KERNERSVILLE – Harold Leon Sapp, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center. Harold was born on December 19, 1936 in Forsyth County to Thomas and Ollie Hastings Sapp. He was an active member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church for many years, where he sang in the choir and served on many committees. Harold retired from RJ Reynolds with over 33 years of service. His love for his community was apparent with many years of volunteering at Beeson Crossroads Fire Department as a Traffic Patrol Officer and his service on the Board of Directors, as well as his membership with the Kernersville Chapter Exchange Club. Harold enjoyed any kind of sports, being especially fond of Nascar and Wake Forest Basketball. He was known to spend many Saturday mornings with his wife, Janet, finding the best yard sales, and loved being outdoors on his tractor or repairing lawn mowers.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother, David Sapp.
Surviving are his wife, Janet Sapp; two sons, Tim Sapp (Amanda), and Scott Sapp (Elaine); four grandchildren, Amy Holcomb (Jacob), Taylor Sapp (Taylor), Elizabeth Sapp, and Jonathan Sapp; three great grandchildren, Cameron, Grayson, and Kensington; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends, who were dear to his heart.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Phil Bauguess officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the visitation at Sedge Garden UMC Cemetery, 794 Sedge Garden Rd, Kernersville, NC at 3:30 pm
