Harold Sherman III, age 73, passed away on February 25, 2026, in Port Orange, Florida. Born on October 24, 1952, Harold grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he graduated from Poughkeepsie High School.

On September 19, 1987, he married Deborah K. Lafko and celebrated 37 years of marriage prior to Deborah's passing on July 5, 2025.

Harold dedicated much of his career to Ulster Electric in Poughkeepsie and was a proud member of the IBEW Union. Known for his hardworking nature and commitment to his trade, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Harold had a zest for life and a playful spirit. He loved watching the New York Yankees and New York Giants whenever he could, playing golf, camping with friends, and entertaining others with his harmonica. His sense of humor and love for laughter brought joy to those around him.

He is survived by his daughters Andrea Sherman of Worcester, MA; Brittnee Reohr (Matt) of Pomona Park, FL; and Caitlynn Buchner (Brian) of Pleasant Valley, NY. Harold also leaves behind two beloved granddaughters: Sarah Dang of Worcester, MA, and Amelia Buchner of Pleasant Valley, NY. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings Deborah Defeo of Salt Point, NY; Dale Sherman of Rhinebeck, NY; James Sherman (Sandra) of Germantown, NY; and Eric Sherman (Florence) of Poughkeepsie, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Harold was predeceased by his parents Mary and Harold Sherman Jr.

A family hosted Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion located at 50 Legion Rd., Poughkeepsie, New York on March 8, 2026, at 1:00pm. Harold's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his laughter continue to echo in their lives forever.
