Harold Dean "Red" Stines, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born on September 17, 1940, in Gaston County, North Carolina. After a fulfilling life dedicated to home improvements, Red passed away peacefully at his residence on October 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Stines and Verna Hallman Stines, his brother, James Stines and sisters, Hazel Costner and Patricia Brooks.
Red was a man whose heart was as expansive as his laughter. Known for his fun-loving spirit, he brought joy to all those who knew him. He took immense pride in his family, cherishing every moment spent with his wife of 66 years, Ann Smith Stines, and his three sons, Todd Stines (Debbie), Jeff Stines (Barbara), and Shane Stines (Beth). Each day was an opportunity for Red to create memories that his loved ones will forever hold dear.
A proud father and grandfather, Red's greatest accomplishments were his boys and his grandchildren: Tiffany, Katelyn, Jessie, Jordan, Hannah Grace, Nicholas, Maggie, DeAnna and Colton; great grandchildren, Abigail, Daniel, Claira, Benjamin, Adaline, Zoey, Willow, Aiden, Hailee and Ellis. He reveled in seeing them grow, supporting them in every endeavor and delighting in their achievements. His warmth and encouragement inspired them to reach for the stars, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on through their lives.
Red was also blessed with a close-knit family, including his sister, Sue McAlister and many wonderful nieces and nephews. The bonds he shared with them, filled with laughter and love, were a testament to the values he held dear.
Red's genuine nature drew people to him, and those who had the privilege to know him witnessed a man who embodied kindness and generosity in every facet of his life. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary soul, we remember him not only for his robust personality but also for his unwavering love for his family. The memories created during his lifetime will forever echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Dean "Red" Stines may have departed from this world, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire his family and friends, reminding them of the importance of love, laughter, and the cherished moments that define a life well-lived. Services will be at a later date.
