Harold Bradford Stone, born on February 5, 1932, in Cresson, TX, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Harold is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Anne Stone; his sons, Bradford and John Stone; his daughter, Rebecka Stone Evans; eight cherished grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Stone, and his granddaughter, Lily Stone.
Harold's early life was filled with a passion for music, leading him to a lifelong career in the industry. His musical journey began in Roswell, New Mexico, as part of a high school choir and band. He was a vocalist and played the sousaphone and string bass.
Harold first met his wife, Anne, at Peterson Field. He was a member of the 504th Air Force Band and served in Tokyo during the Korean War, performing Dixieland and American jazz with the Far East Band in Japan. After his military service, Harold moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, with his young family, where he worked at May's Music. He also collaborated with the YMCA to start "hootenannies" during the folk music era, where he met a young Glen Campbell.
Harold was the Eastern Regional Sales Manager at CG Conn Ltd. and Sherl Roth Strings. He facilitated workshops and organized music education programs with renowned artists, friends, and colleagues like Rafael Mendez, Harvey Phillips, Doc Severinsen, Maynard Ferguson, Cat Anderson, Arturo Sandoval, and many others. After 24 years, he transitioned to LeBlanc and retired in 2021 from Getzen.
Harold continued collecting and repairing musical instruments and selling them on the road until he was 92. His life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family. All his children and grandchildren were encouraged to pursue music, which they have incorporated into their lives. Harold gifted his family and the world with the timeless treasure of music. While he will be deeply missed, his legacy will endure.
Special thanks to Pikes Peak Hospice and their care team, especially Ian Nelson CAN, who provided care for our dear father in his final days.

I was sorry to hear of the Passing of Harold. My sympathy to his family. I knew Harold for many years, and enjoyed seeing him at the Conn Instrument booth at CMEA every year. Harold recommended a march for my Englewood High School band, "Caravan Club", by Karl L. KIng. He liked it because it had a great tuba part. We played it in the 1971 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. Herold was a wonderful friend, He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace!
