Harold Anthony Weiskopf, 92, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at home with his wife and daughters. Born on the family farm in Spring Bluff, Missouri, on April 30, 1933 to William and Mary (Walz) Weiskopf, Harold's life was rich with the love for his family, farming and playing music.
Harold's early life was spent on the rural landscapes of his family's farm, where he attended the Long Ridge country school. His education there planted the seeds of a work ethic and a connection to the earth that would define him. The love for farm life was kindled at a young age as he worked alongside his father, learning all aspects of farming and the satisfaction of hard work.
On June 13, 1960, Harold's life was further enriched when he married the love of his life, Dorothy Danz. Their union was blessed with four daughters: Tammy, Teresa, Tanya, and Trina. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and the joy of his family's expansion to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren only multiplied his happiness.
Harold's career began at Wagner Electric, where he worked for a brief period, but it was at Mastin Tile Co. that he honed his craft for laying tile. Under the guidance of Ray Mastin, Harold's skill with tile became an art, leading him to many fulfilling years at the company. Even after Ray's passing, Harold's reputation as a meticulous and skilled craftsman allowed him to continue in self-employment until his 78th birthday. Giving up his tile career, allowed more time for him to spend on the farm, which was his passion. He worked tirelessly caring for the land and his cows, happy to be able to focus on what he loved!
Harold had a profound love for music, teaching himself to play the bass and drums. This passion was something that he and Dorothy shared together, as she played the organ. They had a large following and met lots of wonderful friends through both bands, The Ozark Ramblers and later Harold's Country Sounds. His music was a testament to his joyous spirit and an invitation to share the pleasure of dancing as their band travelled to various dance halls every Saturday night.
The adventures Harold shared with his wife Dorothy were among his most treasured memories. They made countless trips to Branson over the years and took some longer trips and cruises with the rugged beauty of Alaska, being one of their favorites. Each trip weaving new stories into the tapestry of their life together. A man of faith, Harold was a dedicated member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he found solace and community.
Harold's legacy is one of enduring love-for his family, his work, and the land that sustained him. He was a caregiver at heart and was always willing to do whatever was needed of him for his family, friends, and neighbors. Family was his priority, never missing a sporting event, music program or any other activity that his kids or grandkids were involved in. His calm presence, love for people, and the quiet strength he embodied will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; four daughters: Tammy Watz and husband, Dennis, Teresa Brown and husband, Jeff, Tanya Voss and husband, Dave, and Trina Biermann and husband, Jim all of Sullivan, MO; eight grandchildren: Derek Watz and wife, Colleen of Salem, MO, Brittany Klauser and husband, Mitch of St. Louis, MO, Jarrett Brown and wife, Diana of Ladue, MO, Jenica Bartolotta and husband, Beau of Sullivan, Joseph Brown of St. Louis, Jacob Voss and wife, Tiffany of Sullivan, Jordan Biermann and wife, Zoe and Justin Biermann all of Washington, MO; eleven great-grandchildren: Albany, Ty, Lou, Adriana, Aleksandra, Walton, Ettalyn, Byron, Collin, Sadie, & Remi; special niece and nephew, Debbie Walkenhorst and husband, Wally of Washington, MO and Dale Schmuke and wife, Connie of Union, MO; brother-in-law, David Danz and wife, Nancy of Bland, MO; sister-in-law, Donna Wideman and husband, Bob of Florida; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
