Harold H. Wendroth, age 101 of Litchfield, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Bethany Assisted Living in Litchfield. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Wednesday March 20, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the church service. Interment will be held at Ripley Cemetery, in Litchfield, MN.
Harold Henry Wendroth, the son of George and Ida (Shoultz) Wendroth was born on September 5, 1922 on a farm north of Litchfield. He was baptized at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN on Oct 1, 1922, and was confirmed on Sept 9, 1934 at St. Pauls Lutheran church in Eden Valley, MN. Harold moved to a farm near Eden Valley in 1926. He moved to his farm in Grove City, MN in 1944 where he farmed. Harold was united in marriage to Lois French on June 19, 1952 at the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield, MN and of that marriage was born one son Lavern.
Harold was active on the Grove City school board, church board, Grove City Creamery board, the Farm Burau board, and the Golden Age club. He was the Meeker County Senior Volunteer of the year 2010. Harold enjoyed farming, playing cards and dominos, traveling and family gatherings. Harold was very kind, and easy to get along with.
Harold is Survived by his son Lavern (Bonnie) Wendroth of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren Chad (Sara) Otkin and Jeremy (Karen) Otkin.; great grandchildren Mackenzie, Parker, Alex, and Gavin Otkin.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois; sister Alice Greeley.
