Harriette Brown Smith, age 76 of Marietta, died Monday, July 31, 2023.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, August 5th in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in
Marietta with Pastor Jim Burt officiating. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family
will receive friends on Friday, August 4th from 5:30 PM- 8:30 PM and Saturday one hours before
the Service at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. 770-424-4924.
Harriette was preceded in death by her Husband- Danny T. Smith. Survivors include: Son and
Daughter in Law- Rusty and Angela of Marietta and Brother and Sister in Law- Tommy and Cathy
Brown of Townsend, Georgia, 2 Grandsons.
Harriette was dear to many and last attended North Metro Church on Barrett Parkway. She could
always be found cheering at sporting events or any performance her friends or family were
involved in. No doubt, she will continue cheering on those she loved until the day they are
reunited!
Born in Cartersville, Harriette worked 31 years for Southern Bell and Bellsouth retiring in 2002.
Both while working and into retirement, she was active with her second family, the Bellsouth
Pioneers. The NW Metro Chapter of Pioneers provides local and national volunteer services and
Harriette loved few things more than giving to these causes whether the need was time, physical
items or anything else.
In lieu of flowers and aligning with one of her passions of giving, the family has asked for
donations to Noonday Storehouse in her name. Donations of food items for Noonday can be
made at Carmichael Funeral Home during the hours of viewing or a cash donation through
Noonday's website is also welcome.
Any food items can be donated but specifically:
• Peanut butter
• Small cans Vienna sausage
• Jiffy corn muffin mix
• Canned tuna
• Canned chicken
• 2 lb bags flour
• Fruit punch juice boxes
• Small fruit cups
• #6 brown paper bags
