We are heartbroken to share that Harris I. Berger (Herschel Tzvi ben Avraham v'Leah) passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 78.
Harris was the loving husband of Susan Berger. Over 27 years of marriage, they built a beautiful life together-first in Las Vegas, then in Harris's birthplace, Los Angeles, and finally in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was a devoted son, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and husband. Harris was the proud and loving father and grandfather of Stephen (Rebecca) and their children, Maya and Samara; and Benjamin (Rachel) and their children, Tovah, Avital, Eliana, and Nili. He was equally devoted to and proud of Susan's children, Carl (Brooke) Fisher and their children, Max and Crosby; and Amanda (Stephen) Resnick and their children, Jacob and Bradley. He was a caring brother to Michele Zwillinger (Mort Rosen z"l) and uncle to Zachary and Zeff Zwillinger.
The life Harris and Susan built together in Arizona was especially rich with community and connection through their synagogue, Congregation Beth Israel. Their friends-both in Arizona and across the country-have been an incredible source of kindness and support, for which Susan is deeply grateful.
Harris was a lifelong fan of Los Angeles sports, especially the USC Trojans, Lakers, and Dodgers. He loved movies and great television-always with a big bucket of popcorn in hand. Professionally, Harris approached his work as an accountant with integrity and care, building lasting relationships with clients who trusted him for decades.
Donations in his memory may be made to Congregation Beth Israel - Scottsdale, Magen David Adom, Hebrew Free Loan Society, or to the charity of your choice.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
May his memory be a blessing.
