Charlotte, North Carolina - Harris Trace Swindell was born on June 15, 1984 in Arlington, Virginia to Gary W. Swindell and Lillian Rogers Harris Swindell. He passed away on August 14,2025 after a long time of declining health. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Dr. Anderson Page Harris and Rosalyn Reid Harris and his paternal grandparents, Harold L. Swindell, Sr. and Ida Adele Trace Swindell. Survivors include his parents, his sister Hannah Swindell Diaz, brother-in-law Lauro Diaz, and their children, Anderson, Alexander, Claire, and Emily, all in Charlotte, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Harris was a lifer at Charlotte Latin School and thereafter attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Service will be private. Memorials may be sent to Foundation for the Carolinas, Attn: Peter Hunt Fincher Scholarship Fund, Fund 1219, 220 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.
