Harrison Joel Roe

God gifted the world with Harrison Joel Roe on May 26, 2010. He was the first-born grandchild on both sides of his family. God welcomed him home September 1, 2025 and though Harrison's time on earth was just 15 years, his purpose was complete.
Harrison was perfectly complex-laid back with an amazing sense of humor, yet anchored by strong values, wise beyond his years, yet innocent and pure. He was private, yet loved to talk; sensitive but quick to forgive, logical yet imaginative. He was polite, considerate, empathetic, and genuine. He carried himself with quiet humility, never complained, and approached life with quiet strength. Harrison held himself to high standards, seeking truth, understanding, and integrity in all he did. He was recognized as one of the top three students in his class, a testament to this. He rose to be a great leader and an inspiration to those of all ages.
Harrison delighted in the little joys of life: holidays, family gatherings, board games, rainy days, long walks, laughter, food, video games, and his beloved dogs, Ruby and Copper. He was witty, clever, and funny, yet also a serious thinker whose inner world was vast and brilliant. He wasn't afraid to ask questions and was always eager to learn. He loved to discuss ideas, explore perspectives, and ponder deeply. Books, especially the Eragon series, transported him into worlds as rich as the one he carried within. Above all, Harrison cherished his family, friends and God.
Harrison did not want to be remembered as a sad story of a boy with cancer, but rather as someone who lived fully and faithfully. His relationship with God was important and his faith was not shallow, but hard earned through wrestling, questioning and ultimately trusting. His life is best honored not by mourning how he died, but by celebrating how he lived-as a child of God.
Though Harrison's earthly body has passed, his spirit lives forever in heaven. While most need a lifetime, Harrison fulfilled God's calling in just 15 years.
Left to cherish Harrison's memories are his parents, Matt (Sierra) Roe, Jocelyn Wells; siblings, Sawyer and August; grandparents, Joel (Bonita) Wells, Randy (Grace Ann) Roe; great-grandma, Lenora Couchman and uncles Andy (Bobbie Sue) Roe, Gabe (Caitlin) Wells and numerous extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Wayne Community High School Gymnasium on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 3:00PM. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wayne High School Gym. A private burial will be held at the Corydon Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wayne Community School District and mailed to Thomas Funeral Home Attn: Roe Family 303 E.
