Harry was a quiet, kind and gentle boy when we were in Oakhurst elementary together. I moved away after high school and didn't have a chance to know him as a an adult but it gives me much pleasure to see that he had a fulfilling life and was loved by so many people.

I first met Harry Aston in Garland Texas, many years ago, at a barbecue restaurant, which was located across the street from a Penske truck rental location that I had opened up on Broadway Blvd. Harry was speaking with the owner of the restaurant who was leasing the property from him.

This was when I first witnessed Harry trying to help one of his tenants with giving him advice (and working out payment arrangements for late rent as I later found out).

I ended up renting several properties from Harry after that meeting and, over the years, continued to witness Harry trying to help his tenants.... Including Myself.

I was in a hospital, in Austin Texas, when I found out that my mother had stage 4 terminal cancer...
As I spent 37 days with my sister, in the hospital, staying by our mothers side as she passed... Harry, was Only concerned with how I was doing, and continued to tell me not to worry about coming back to Rowlett to pay rent and to stay with my mother who needed us!

Harry could have easily spoken to me about various ways that I could have sent money, including mailing a check or wiring money electronically etc., but instead....he CHOSE to only talk about how my sister and I were doing...reassuring me that he knew that I would take care of the rent when I was back in town.

It is said that you get to know someone's True Heart in times of trouble and hardship, and this has been proven to be true with Harry, who would quietly help others and show that he cared, without being obvious or self serving.

Harry seemed to be somewhat of a private person, but when mentioning family, I could see in his eyes the love that he truly had for All of his family. When he would talk about his family, you could sometimes see tears in his eyes, showing through the tough exterior. You could also tell what was on his mind and in his heart, by how he spent his last few months working to get everything in order, for their Benefit. This reminded me of how my mother was more concerned with my sister and I being ok, rather than herself, even though she knew that she was dying.

Harry... Thank you for the advice that you would give and the way in which you conducted business as a landlord, and for caring about myself as well as my mother and sister, whom you had never even met.
It was an Honor to do business with you, and you will be truly missed! May God Bless you in Heaven, Amen.
