Harry Paul Dittman, 89, passed away October 12, 2025, in Eagle Idaho.
Harry was born on March 30, 1927, in Wheeling West, Virginia to Maxamillian and Rosa Dittman..
Harry was married to Betty Lee (Gosney) of Martins Ferry, Ohio at the Lutheran Church in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Harry and Betty began their family in Wheeling, West Virginia where their three children Gary, Robert and Kathy were all born. Later for economic reasons they moved the family to Long Beach, CA where they spent most of their family life. He later followed his daughter to Portland, Oregon and once again to Eagle, ID.
Harry worked many jobs in his early life, a train engineer, taxi driver and carpenter until he reached California and continued as a commercial carpenter for many years. He started a cabinet shop and eventually started a commercial construction company until his retirement.
The family owned and lived on a horse ranch for many years which they enjoyed in Long Beach, CA. Harry liked camping with his family occasionally, but, he spent most of his time working hard so that his family could enjoy life. He always enjoyed visiting friends and distant family members and was always available for help when needed. He also did extensive research on the family heritage and provided his children with an extensive family tree.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lee.
He is survived by his children Gary Dittman, Robert Dittman and Kathy Thompson, and five grandchildren: Tommy, Beth, David, Ryan and Ashley along with seven great grandchildren: Nolan, Micah, Brook, Beck, Brock, Sawyer and Charlotte.
The Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935 on Sunday November 9th, 2025.
