Harry E. Fowler, of Mexico, Mo, sadly passed away on Monday April 1st, 2024, at Boone Hospital with family by his side. Born on January 14, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo, he was the son of the late Theresa (Smith) Fowler and Houston Fowler.
In the early 60s Harry met his wife Helen (Bryant) Fowler in St. Louis, Mo and moved to Vandalia, Mo where he married and spent most of his young adult life raising his family. Together Harry and Helen raised two children Kimberly (Clifton) Long and Jason (Jasmine) Fowler. Harry moved his family to Mexico, Mo in the late 80s where he lived the remainder of his life. Harry was a cherished member of the Vandalia/Mexico, Mo community.
Harry was a devoted brother, husband and father, and his family was the cornerstone of his life. Harry loved his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them during visits, holidays, birthdays and celebrations.
Harry enjoyed being out in the community and engaging in conversations, he was known for his humorous personality. Harry loved to make others smile and laugh.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, his lovely wife Helen, brother Zubair Salahuddin, brother William Fowler, brother Eugene Fowler, sister Carol (Fowler) Boure’, sister Annette (Fowler) Foster, and grand-daughter Khala (Boston) Fowler.
Harry leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his two sisters: Sandra Fowler and Janet Fowler, two children: Kimberly (Clifton) and Jason (Jasmine), six grandchildren: Kymberly (Kennedy) Oguejiofor, Kai (Jordan) Devine, Kacyn Pickering, Houston Fowler, Helena Fowler, Phoenix Fowler, and seven great-grandchildren: Londyn Brown, Khloee Hinkle, Boston Spence, Legend Oguejiofor, Kharlee Devine, Josiah Devine, Korryn Devine, and Kennedy Oguejiofor Jr (aka lil Harry), and a slew of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation celebrating Harry’s life will be held on April 14, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Water’s Funeral Home in Vandalia, Mo 63382
Funeral services will follow visitation and begin at 4:00 pm.
There will not be a burial service to follow as Harry's wishes were cremation.
A celebration of life dinner will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Consuming Fires Ministry Church in Mexico, MO. 1100 Grove St. Please contact Jasmine Fowler at 573-253-8265 for more information
