Harry Harness Obituary
As a child, he moved with his family to Brownsville, TN. He graduated in 1980 as valedictorian of Tennessee Academy. For years he pursued scouting, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Southwestern at Memphis, now known as Rhodes College. He met his wife, Dottie, there. They even married on the campus on May 4, 1985, when the azaleas were in bloom. He was CFO of the Juice Plus+ Company. He was an avid lover of rock and roll, especially AC/DC. He also always loved a glass of California Cabernet Sauvignon, and he met many true friends in the different wine clubs in which he and Dottie participated. Later in life, he was able to fulfill his childhood dream of getting a Porsche 911. He was able to get a 911 GT3 RS custom-made, just for him. He was always ready to lend a hand, whether it be monetarily, through his time, or his strength. He volunteered to help with the church food pantry, alongside his wife. He was a devoted son, a loving father, and husband, and a loyal friend. He had a witty sense of humor that his family and friends always enjoyed. He loved telling stories, even if he laughed through the punch line. Parker was the type of son, husband, father, and friend that definitely left those who knew him longing for more time.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Parker Harness, Jr., and his brother, Alan Harness.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dottie Harness, mother, Mavis Harness, son and daughter-in-law, Harry Parker Harness IV and Jasmine Harness, and daughter, Elizabeth Harness.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 5 from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis.
