Harry Johannes, age 78 of Dayton, Ohio formerly of St. Charles, St. Louis went home to be with the Lord on May 30, 2024. He was born August 15, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late George and LaVerne (Bardgett) Johannes III.
Harry was a loving spouse, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a proud United States Army Veteran who served his country during Vietnam. He enjoyed tinkering with his gadgets, computers, and helping friends and families with numerous renovations. For many years, Harry was head of maintenance at H. Gerstner & Sons at Dayton, Ohio. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Harry is survived by his children, Michele, Mike, and Marc Johannes, and Heather Ditter; numerous grandchildren; sister, Nancy Campbell; niece, Kimberly (Maurice) Brown; nephew, Scott (Vicki) Campbell; mother of his children, Barbara Johannes; longtime dear friend, Darla Mort and her family; as well as several other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 2pm at private residence, 121 Mary Tom Lane, Foley, Mo 63347.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 10:30am to 11:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Harrys' honor to Brookville Church of the Nazarene.
