Harry Douglas Jones

Harry Douglas Jones, 81, of Troy, Missouri, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, with his family by his side. He was the second oldest child born to Armand and Eileen (Weeks) Jones on Dec. 10, 1943, in St. Charles, Missouri. Harry grew up with his three brothers: Shelby, Jerry, and Steve. After high school, he attended college in Kirksville. At the age of 26, he married his sweetheart, Charla Howard, on August 16, 1969, in Elsberry, MO. To this union were born two children: Katie and Matt. Harry was an incredible husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished each and every one of his family members.
Harry was a good provider for his family. He worked 35 years at Cuivre River Electric, retiring after many years of dedicated work as a lineman and field engineer. His faith was very important to him as a member of the First Christian Church of Troy. Golfing, quail hunting, boating, and trout fishing were many of his pastimes. For many years, the family enjoyed time at their place at Lake of the Ozarks. Most of all, his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Surviving are his beloved wife of over 55 years, Charla Jones of Troy; his daughter, Katie and husband Ron Tautphaues of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, his son, Matt and wife Melissa Jones of Elsberry, Missouri, and his adoring grandchildren: Morgan Jones, Avery Tautphaeus, Cooper Jones and Brenley Tautphaeus. He is further survived by his two brothers: Shelby and wife Gina Jones of Jefferson City, Missouri; Jerry and wife Sherry Jones of Burlington, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother, Steve.
Visitation scheduled from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy location. Also there will be visitation on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10a.m. until 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Troy.
A Memorial service scheduled at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the First Christian Church of Troy. Officiating: Rev. Dr. Jeff Moore to officiate.
