Harry Klein Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bi-State Cremation & Funeral Service - Florissant on Mar. 18, 2026.
Harry Phillip Klein, 89, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on April 21, 1936, in St. Louis, Harry was a man who never met a problem he couldn't solve, a prank he couldn't pull, or a good deal on gasoline he couldn't find.

Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Catherine "Kay" Klein (née Birke); his brother, Tom Klein; his son Alfred Klein and his spouse Christine, and their children, Matthew and Natalie; and his son Christopher Klein and his spouse, Kathryn, and their daughter, Olivia. He was preceded in death by his father, Sebastian Klein, and his mother Katie Klein (née Cool).

Harry served his country proudly in the United States Army before returning to St. Louis, where he built a long and fulfilling career as an Expeditor at McDonnell-Douglas.

If you knew Harry, you knew mischief wasn't far behind. He was a prankster with a heart of gold, the kind of man who could make you laugh until your sides hurt and then quietly do something incredibly kind when he thought nobody was looking. His sense of humor was legendary, and his warmth was something people carried with them long after they left his company.

Harry was a devoted husband to his beloved Kay, and their partnership was the kind that made everyone around them believe in lasting love. Whatever Kay got involved with, Harry was right there beside her, lending his time and his energy without hesitation even riding copilot on many of the Ferguson Parks & Rec bus trips. He was also a dedicated volunteer with the Boy Scouts, where he helped shape young lives in the community he loved.

When Harry wasn't solving problems or dreaming up his next prank, you could find him in his workshop, crafting something practical and useful out of wood, tinkering with his tools, reading up on tractors, or driving around in search of the best price on gasoline. He was a man of simple, genuine pleasures, and he savored every one of them.

The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00am on Saturday June 13th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1115 S. Florissant Rd, Ferguson, MO 63135. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM.

We thank everyone who has been involved in Harry's life, and we hope that he has left a lasting memory, a laugh, a good story, or a completed "task" for you to remember him by.
