Harry Martin

1933 - 2023

Harry Martin, 89, was born on April 11, 1933, in New Jersey to Rose and Harry Martin, but grew up in California. He attended Stanford University, class of '55, before joining the corrugated box industry until he retired. He was happily married Cynthia Luks for over 50 years. They lived in Italy and Greece for 5 years before returning with their family to live stateside. Throughout his life, he loved to play golf and always had time to get in a few holes. He loved to travel and took his family all over Europe and Egypt. After he retired, he took up cooking and baking, but always made the recipes his own. He loved wine and was always up for a trip to various wine counties in California for wine tasting at the smaller vineyards. He and his wife, Cindy, moved back to Pennsylvania and they remodeled a historic farmhouse in Boiling Springs. He loved to go to craft and art shows and support local artists. For the past 25 years, he has had a Bernese Mountain dog by his side. He lived his life to fullest and he was able to take a final trip to France, partaking in local cuisine and wine tasting. He passed away peacefully on the last morning of his trip in Turkey on his way home to Frederick, MD.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy. He leaves behind his three daughters, Christina Kroger, Polly Martin, and Stephanie Gallo, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one Bernese Mountain Dog.
