Harry Redding was one of the key designers at Pontiac Engineering when I first worked for Pontiac in the summer of 1957. He was a dynamic force in the design room and could complete a design with dazzling speed. He was very confident and had the skill and ability to back it up. I especially recall how upbeat he always seemed to be and how he had such a great sense of humor. I am glad to see that he made it into his 90's which gave him a long well deserved retirement from GM.Best wishes to Harry's family as they deal with this loss. They have much to be proud of in the life of Harry Redding.

A Tribute to Harry Redding from General Motors Engineering.
Harry Redding was a much respected member of GM's Pontiac engineering team, responsible for creating a family of performance vehicles that are now collected and cherished by automotive enthusiasts around the world. Harry was on the front line of engineering activities when history was being created. I worked with and for Harry in my early days at Pontiac. He was a friend, as well as, my boss, when we both work in the Chassis Engineering department. Harry was a friend to everyone at work and led us all by his personal example as he kept us focused on our work assignment. Harry had a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm which was very contagious. He nurtured a work environment wherein our individual and collective work tasks appeared as the cornerstone of the bigger objective. Harry had a special talent for energizing our motivation and pride for the job as he recognized our individual and collective talents and contributions towards the customer's satisfaction with their Pontiac vehicle.
