Harry Phillip Smith

February 22, 1948 - January 27, 2026

Harry Phillip Smith, age 78, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Phillip was born on February 22, 1948, a son of the late Charles J. and Virginia "Susie" Smith. He worked as an auditor at the Virginia Tax Department. He was a member of Fairview Church. Phillip had a passion for service. He served on Danville City Council, Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Danville Utility Commission, the Finance Committee of Fairview Church, and the Board of Becky's Kiddie Kollege.

Phillip is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beth, his children Jason (Amanda) and Rebecca (Rebekah), and two granddaughters, Sylvie and Sadie.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Townes Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Highland Burial Park.

Donations may be made to Fairview Church, Becky's Kiddie Kollege Scholastic Fund, Danville Rescue Squad, or the charity of your choice.
