Harry “Glenn” Vincent was born on June 4, 1925 in Salt Lake City to Albert H. and Lucy Lovett Vincent. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the age of 100. Attended West High School where he excelled in sports including Football, Baseball & Track.
Married Jetta Vee Hedgepeth on April 3, 1944 while on leave from Treasure Island Naval Base near San Francisco where he was stationed at the time before being deployed overseas. He was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the US Navy in the Pacific on the USS Dorstch. In his early years he enjoyed the outdoors and shared many wonderful memories and stories from his hunting and fishing trips with his brothers, family and friends.
Glenn was the Co-Owner and General Manager of Equalizer Trailer Hitch Company, a family business that manufactured and sold Trailer Hitches until the business was sold in the late 1970’s. He loved sports and spent many years working part time as an official umpiring baseball games or refereeing basketball games throughout the city and state. Glenn was an avid bowler and excelled in the sport having several perfect 300 games during his bowling career. He was inducted into the Great Salt Lake Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2012 and continued to bowl well into his 90’s. He also loved to golf and was proud of the fact that he had 3 Holes in One. Family and Friends gathered on June 4, 2025 to celebrate his 100th Birthday. It was a special day for Glenn and all who attended.
Survived by his Son Glendyn “Glen” (Linda) 7 Grandchildren - Drake (Christa), Scott (Jen), Jen Shumaker (Jason), Dena Snow (Tavish), Nathan (Melanie), Megan, Kim (Shawn), 13 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, Sister Carol Brotherson and Brother Albert (Linda) Vincent. Preceded in Death – wife Jetta, Daughter Connie Forbes, Son Gary, his parents, brothers George A., Lester H., Gilbert L, Clifford L., Lloyd T., sister Elaine Simons and longtime companion Margaret Seeronen.
A special thanks to the VA and Superior Hospice Care Team as well as, Nate & Melanie Vincent for the love and compassionate care they provided in the last months of Glenn’s life. Our family is also so very grateful to Terry Johansen and Rudy Gregovich for their kindness and the special friendship they had with our Dad and Grandpa.
A viewing will be held at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd. Cottonwood Heights, UT on Friday, November 7, from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm followed by a Graveside Service with Military Honors at 1:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers we would like to suggest you take your family bowling… Glenn would love that!
