Harvey Donker

Harvey Dale Donker, a strong devoted Christian husband, father, and grandfather, died peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Harvey, 94, of Charlotte and formerly of Middleville, Michigan was born on August 12, 1930 in Grand Rapids, the son of Peter and Bertha (Van Kolker) Donker. Upon graduating from high school Harvey proudly served in the United States Army. On June 1, 1951, Harvey married Linnea Ehrendole and together they started their family and created many lasting memories over 68 years until her passing in 2020. He was a proud owner of DVK Construction until his retirement in 1987. Harvey was a man that did not like to sit inside, he could often be found walking in the woods on his property, sitting by his reflection pond, mowing, or working in his gardens. Harvey enjoyed spending his summers at the family cottage in Grand Haven. He also enjoyed the yearly deer camp in the UP. Harvey and Linnea enjoyed traveling, they wintered in Florida, and took countless trips around the world. He was also a very gifted with music, he couldn't read music but was able to play by ear. Above all, his biggest enjoyment in life was his devotion to God, his wife of 68 years, and his family.

Harvey is survived by his children, Gary (Kim) Donker, Mary (David) Rudd, Sandra (Bernie) Kilmartin, and Robert (Kelly) Donker; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several extended family members. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Linnea; siblings, Bud Donker, Marvin Donker, Russ Donker, and Alice Herbig; and his parents.

Memorial services are Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Church in Middleville with Pastor Ryan Kimmel officiating. A visitation will be held just prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Moore's AFC Home in Charlotte. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
