Harvey Elerson Sr.

Mr. Harvey Elerson, Sr., 85, passed away Tuesday (March 5, 2024) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a brief illness.
He was born in Wheeler County, GA to the late Richard Lehman Elerson and Gladys Foskey Elerson. He was a 1956 graduate of Waycross High School and retired from Flash Foods, Inc. as an air conditioning and refrigeration specialist. Prior to working with Flash Foods, he was self-employed for many years with Elerson Refrigeration. He was of the baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Judy Elerson; a daughter, Jamie Elerson Oglesby; and a brother, Wendell Elerson.
He is survived by four children, Dr. Harvey Elerson, Jr. (Michell) of Athens, GA, Nan Elerson White (Craig) of Marietta, GA, Sherry Casey (Ben) of Kingsland, GA, and Tracie Hartkemeyer (Steve) of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren, Trey Elerson, Sarah Elerson, Ethan White, Peyton White, Molly Oglesby, Madi Oglesby, Tyler Peeples, Jarrett Peeples, and Aftan Beladi; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Perritt of Blackshear.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (March 11, 2024) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon at Music Funeral Home from 3 until 5 o'clock.
