Harvey "Sonny" Gribbins, Sr., age 69, passed away at 3:09 a.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a resident of the Mt. Zion Community of Washington County, KY.
He was born in Lebanon, KY on October 1, 1954 to the late William Arvin and Leoda Garrett Gribbins.
Preceding him in death was a daughter, Lisa Gribbins on September 21, 1994; two sisters, Nevelda Gribbins and Dorine McGowen and three brothers, Martin, Clayton and Michael Gribbins.
Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Bonnie Walls Gribbins; a son, Edgar Lee Gribbins (Susan); a daughter, Ashley Nicole Gribbins all of Willisburg; three grandchildren, Lisa Michelle Gribbins Yaste (Jerry), Haylee Jolyne Gribbins and Caitlyn Arlea Bryant; three step grandchildren, Emily, Hailey and Michael Hooper; three great grandchildren, Walker Gribbins, Kyler Gribbins and Allyson Yaste; a special niece, Rhonda Bright and a special sister-in-law, Marsha Gribbins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 22nd at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Mavis Bennett, officiating.
Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Sunday and after 8:00 Monday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
