My mother went to school with Harvey.. and she loved him, always talked about him.. she died Oct the 7th of this year, So they are together again.. my mother was Jewell Estetter..

Harvey was a wonderfully talented man who blessed my entire family with his friendship all their life. I am sure he will be making beautiful music in heaven as he did on earth. Thank you for the music you left behind for the world to enjoy. Rest In Peace my friend. Love, Cyndi

What a blessing to be part of the Wieting family. Of the 27 Fred Wieting grandchildren, these 27 first cousins are now 13 living with Harvey's "graduation". Harvey attended many family events and sent many notes and musical greetings to keep in touch even with a very busy schedule. I still have the Wieting old black "tank" (as Harvey described it) of a piano in my parlor that Harvey first played on as a toddler. We'll miss you immensely but Thank You For Your Love and God bless you until we meet again. Cousin Sue, Axtell, TX

I remember when we were young and Harvey came by my house in Crosby to pick up some sheet music he had left at my house before he went on to become famous. We went to high school in Crosby. I was always very fond of him.

Harvey, not only were you a divine composer (How can anyone forget your songs, "Try to Remember," "Soon It's Gonna Rain," "My Cup Runeth Over," "What is A Woman," "Is It Really Me?," and "The Room Is Filled With You," to name but a few?) but you were also a kind gentleman to this longtime fan of your work. I was relieved to watch you in a recent TV interview state that your health had taken a turn for the better. This means yesterday when you passed on, you were probably in no pain. I look forward to attending your New York City Memorial Service for I am truly one of your mourners. I only wish I had been privileged to spend more time with you for our two meetings were brief. But you left me with a most favorable impression. I will never forget you and your incredible music.
