Mr. Smith was a husband, father, brother, Christian, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Harvey was strong in his faith and was a devoted member of the Pentecostals of the Twin Cities. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Harvey always knew how to light up a room by telling stories. Harvey loved sports but most of all he loved cheering on the New Orleans Saints on NFL Sunday. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Before retirement, Harvey dedicated many years as a postman for the United States Postal Service. To know him was to love him and he never failed to always bring a smile to your face.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lovid Busby Smith and Ruthie Mae McDonald Smith; son, Paul D. Smith; sisters, Mattie Mae Smith, Ruth Willen Smith, Alvis Y’Vone Moss, Newlyn Laverne Telano, Elizabeth Ann Smith, Verdie Lee Burgess, and Weba Jean Moody; brothers, Abner Smith and Bobby Neal Smith; and daughter, Paula Darlene Smith.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Glenda Ruth Smith; daughter, Dwanna Faye Farr; stepdaughter, Kim Whitaker; step son, Brian McClain; and brother, J.D. Smith; as well as a host of loved ones and friends.

The pallbearers will be Tim Mixon, Woody Lovett, John Allen Whitaker, Jr., Dakota McClain, Bradley Horn, and Edwin Hatten.
