Hattie Belle Carroll was born on February 5, 1927 in Essex County Virginia. Hattie passed away peacefully on September16, 2025 with family by her side. She was 98 years old. She was born to the late Julia & Shelly Johnson. Hattie was one of twelve children who proceeds her in death(Roberta, Thomas, Elizabeth, Clementine, Lawrence, Gladys, Lucius, Eva, Edward, Brooksy, Frank). Raised and went to school in
Virginia. Joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Virginia at an early age. Hattie moved to Mt. Pleasant Wayne, PA at an early age to attend high school and with her now deceased sister Clementine. Joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wayne, then moved to Philadelphia and joined the Metropolitan Baptist Church. She later found and joined a church closer to her home, The Robinson Chapel Church on 52 nd
Street in Philadelphia. She was the president and the Pastor Aid of Trustee. Hattie loved working and servicing in the Robinson Chapel Church of the God in Christ. Hattie was married to Joseph Taylor, who proceed her in death and later remarried years later to Sterling Carroll who also proceed in death. From those unions seven children were born (Joseph, Delores, Arthur, Herman, Nelson, Tyrone, Mary). Hattie worked as a housekeeper for years on the Main Line in Philadelphia. After retiring she travelled to Canada, Nevada, Florida and many other places she enjoyed . She loved her church, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Hattie leaves to cherish her memories her children: Joseph Taylor, Arthur Taylor and wife Meeka , Nelson Taylor and wife Hafeeza, Mary Weightman and husband Robert. Children that proceed her Delores Swann, Herman Taylor, and Tyrone Taylor. In-laws: Tazeena Taylor and John Swann. Twenty grandchildren, and a host of many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild, many
nieces and nephews, godson Eric Johnson, Best friend Betty Johnson and neighbor Dee Johnson. She loved all dearly.
