Hattie Kathryn Shepherd, 81, of Commiskey, Indiana passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Hickory Creek Nursing Center in Greensburg, Indiana. Mrs. Shepherd was born on April 13, 1929, in Stamping Ground, Kentucky, the daughter of Erby and Jessie Robinson Kidwell. She married Harold Shepherd in Commiskey, Indiana. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Shepherd was the custodian at Coffee Creek Conversation Club in Commiskey, Indiana for 32 years. She was a member of Commiskey First Church of God for 35 years. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, working with flowers and around her home, she especially loved violets. Survivors include her son, Donald Shuler and his wife Cathy of North Vernon, Indiana; grandchildren, Dustin Shuler and Crystal Shuler both of North Vernon, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Donald and Calbert Kidwell. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. George Reece officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana. Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Alzheimer's Association.
