Hayden Michael "Mike" Aronson

Hayden Michael "Mike" Aronson (1942- 2025) died peacefully at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House surrounded by family on November 22, 2025, at the age of 83.

Mike was born in Chicago, Ill., on Halloween 1942 to Rose and Paul Aronson. He had two sisters, Theda "Teddi" and Ivy, who passed away at age three. Mike had a sharp and inquisitive mind which led him to earn degrees in physics and computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Oregon State. Mike taught physics and astronomy at Sehome High School in Bellingham, Wash., and later at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City. He finished out his professional career as a Software Manager at Lucidyne Technologies in Corvallis, Ore., where he worked for over 25 years, until his retirement in 2018.

Mike met his beloved wife, Susan (Golden) Aronson in Bellingham and they married in his backyard on August 11, 1974. They honeymooned on the Oregon Coast and moved to Oregon, eventually settling in Corvallis permanently in 1990.

Mike was a legendary storyteller and spent his free time acting in and directing plays at the Majestic Theater. His volunteer work there was recognized three years ago when the Mike Aronson Spotlight Award was created to recognize community members who have given extraordinary service to the theater. He also wrote and produced original readers theater productions on topics like Jewish Supreme Court Justices for the Beit Am Jewish Community.

Even with all these achievements, Mike's greatest accomplishment by far is the beautiful life that he built with his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Susan; daughters, Wendy (Aaron Ney), Rachel (Andrew Garvin), and Carmel (Lynn Bondi); and grandsons, Ravi and Beau. May his Memory Be a Blessing.
