In Loving Memory of Hayley Marie Marshall (Nielsen)
February 24, 1980 – October 8, 2025
Hayley Marie Marshall (Nielsen) was born on February 24, 1980, in Provo, Utah, to Steve Nielsen and Valerie Sudweeks (Nielsen). As the fourth of seven children, Hayley grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and the joyful chaos of a close-knit family. Raised in Orem, she developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors, spending countless hours hiking and camping with her family and close friends.
In 1999, Hayley met the love of her life, Lance Marshall. Their daughter Aspen arrived in May of 2000. Hayley was thrilled to have a little girl to dote over and loved being a new mom. In October of 2007, their son Chance was born, adding another layer of excitement to their growing family.
Hayley and Lance shared a love of nature and spent much of their time in Utah camping, hiking, and exploring whenever they could. In 2018, they relocated to Surprise, Arizona, where they found their forever home. Though the desert landscape was a change from the mountains of Utah, Hayley quickly fell in love with the beauty of the Saguaro cactus and loved collecting rocks. She especially loved taking fishing trips with Chance, daily FaceTime calls with Aspen, and seeing her grandchildren.
Hayley passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2025, surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren.
Hayley will be remembered for her sweet spirit, playful nature, and unwavering kindness. She was always accepting of others and never judgmental. Hayley always brought joy, laughter and love into the lives of those who knew her.
She leaves behind a family and friends who adored her.
We will miss you, Tater Tot!
