HAYLEY MCNEFF Obituary
Born and raised in Concord, MA, she was the beloved daughter of David J. McNeff of Wayland and Michelle C. Walker of South Dartmouth, MA; and was the cherished sister of Ashley S. McNeff of San Francisco, CA and Scott P. McNeff of Quincy, MA. She was the niece of Susan G. McNeff of Newburyport, MA and Kathy M. McNeff of Needham, MA. Hayley was also niece of James Patrick (deceased) and Mary Hurley of Cleveland Heights, OH, Dennis and Deb Hurley of Newmarket, NH, Peter (deceased) and Lorraine Hurley of Chattanooga, TN and Matthew and Jennifer Hurley of Westford, MA. Cousin to Katie, Alex, Brandon, Bryanna, Christine, Caroline Sarah, Ryan, Meghan and Caroline Elizabeth.
Hayley graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School and The University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts degree. A lifelong athlete, she excelled as an accomplished equestrian, a talented board diver and skier as a youth and young adult. As an adult, she discovered a passion for bodybuilding and was the US Bodybuilding Champion during her career. She later pursued graduate studies in psychology, driven by a desire to better understand and help others.
Hayley was known for her quick wit and constant sense of humor, she had a gift for making those around her laugh and feel welcomed. Her energy and determination was a constant in her life and she always accomplished what she set out to achieve. She treasured her friendships and nurtured strong, lasting relationships with those who knew her best. Hayley will be deeply missed by her parents, siblings, extended family and friends.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., WELLESLEY, on Saturday, August 16, from 10-11am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NAMI Massachusetts, 529 Main St. Suite #1M17, Boston, MA 02129. Hayley was in my graduating class. From elementary to high school. We shared some classes, went off campus a few times after craving a salad, and we went on our ways after graduation. When she was a kid her nickname was Spanky.
I will say though, she was special. People loved her. She was very mature with the discipline of an adult even at a young age.
These last 10 years have been challenging for me for a multitude of reasons. After I found out Hayley passed, that same night I coincidentally found a note she left me a few years ago when I was struggling hard. She told me not to give up. Those few words meant a lot to me.
Her legacy was a trail blazer who broke the mold. An inspiration for all, especially women. To accomplish all she had, is powerful.
Hayley, thank you for your contribution. You were a beautiful, powerful shining light. You will live on. We will miss you.
