Hazel Lee Barfield

1948 - 2023

Hazel Lee Barfield, 74, widow of the late Arnette Barfield, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at Wren Creek Estates.
Mrs. Barfield was born on July 18, 1948, in Florence County, daughter of the late Jessie E. Chandler and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Gaymon Chandler. She attended Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Barfield sang over 50 years with the "Singing Samaritans". She not only loved singing, but she loved her church and family. Mrs. Barfield enjoyed making custom drapes for homes, before her health declined, she loved eating at the Huddle House after church, traveling to the mountains with friends and family, wearing her "Fancy Pants & Dazzled Jeans", dressing to the finest, and going to gospel singings.
Surviving are her nieces, Donna (Chuck) Kellar and Melissa (Dusty) Hutchinson, both of Lake City; nephew, Luke Hutchinson of Lake City; siblings, Judy Chandler (Alton) Anderson and Reace (Rosa Nell) Chandler, both of Lake City; nieces Lisa (Bob) Altman and Debbie (Chris) Paul, both of Lake City; many other nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, David Parker and Calvin Green, both of Lake City.
Mrs. Barfield was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Arnette Barfield; son, Tony Barfield; siblings, Lora Lee Chandler Langley, Esther Rea Chandler Green and Isaree Chandler Parker.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church.
