Hazel Maxine Garrett

Hazel Maxine Garrett, 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at BMH-Columbus,MS. She was born in Attala County, MS on April 24, 1941 to parents Charlie Jackson Vanlandingham and Hazel Anna Hodge Vanlandingham. She graduated high school in Rosedale, MS and was a graduate of Draughon's Business College in Memphis, TN. She worked doing bookkeeping and secretarial work for several companies before retiring as a homemaker. She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. She lived in Hamilton, MS for the past 40 years.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 pm until service time at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are deacons of Center Hill Baptist Church and Bill Harlow.

She is survived one brother, Len Vanlandingham (Mary Jo) of Hamilton; one son, Randy Savage of Rose Dale, MS; two step-children, Anthony Garrett of Russelville, AL; Micheal Garrett (Dominica) of West Point, MS; and several grandchildren  and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tommy Garrett, one son, Gregory "Greg" Ray Savage and one grandson.
