Hazel Elizabeth Hutcherson, a beloved figure in her community, quietly passed away at her residence in Lyles, Tennessee, on September 23, 2024, at the age of 94.
She was born on April 15, 1930, in Fairview, Tennessee, to the late Perry Washington and Eula Gelee (Daugherty) Hutcherson.
Hazel's life was a testament to love, caring, and a following of Jesus Christ. She was a member of Liberty Lincoln Church of Christ. She was truly an angel to her family and friends, always bringing joy and light wherever she went. Her interests were varied, but game shows held a special place in her heart. She delighted in watching them, often with a bowl of her favorite chocolate, particularly enjoying Hershey's chocolate kisses. Reading and doing word search puzzles were other cherished pastimes that brought her a sense of joy and accomplishment.
Hazel’s legacy will continue through her nieces and nephews: Denise (Sanford) Cart, Tina Stone, Dennis Wilson, Doug (Anita) Wilson, Dana Wilson, Shannon Hutcherson, and Greg (Gail) Hutcherson. Additionally, she leaves behind three generations of great-nieces and nephews who carry forward her spirit and love.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Carl Hutcherson and Ella B. Wilson.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Hazel’s life during visitation services at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 209 East College Street, Dickson, TN 37055. The visitation will be held on September 25, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on September 26, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Hazel's remarkable life will immediately follow on September 26, beginning at 1:00 PM with Bro. Bruce Buttrey and Bro. Mike Binkley officiating.
