Hazel Locklear Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Revels Funeral Home - Lumberton on Nov. 11, 2024.
Ms. Hazel Locklear, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at the age of 98. She was the daughter of Frank and Bertie Locklear, born July 16, 1926 in Lumberton North Carolina. Hazel was a daughter, sister and aunt who loved the Lord and was devoted to family. She loved children, which became her inspiration for becoming an educator. Aunt Hazel didn't have children of her own; but, helped raise nieces and nephews. The home was often filled with family and friends visiting. She loved to cook and seemed to always have something to share with you. Being a passionate gardener, her home was a testament of beauty. We have the assurance, she was ready to go home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Ms. Hazel was cherished by her family. Brother Eddie Mac Locklear (Frances Dale) and their children: Bea Brayboy, Janice Jackson, Al James, Ernest, Kennith, and Cynthia Rene` Locklear White. Brother Wilbur S. Locklear (Bertha) and their children: Stan, Trent and Lori Jones. Sister Roza Bensch, is the only living sibling. Brother Marvin Locklear (Nina) and their children: Audrey, Theresa and Ricky. Brother Joseph Locklear (Clara) and their children: Christina and Chucky. Brother Eugene Locklear (Dorthy) and their children: Gino, Gina, Gene Jr. and Gene Grant. Sister Helen Jones (L.J.). Brother John Locklear (Kathern) and their children: Jackie, Tabatha and Nicole, along with a host of relatives and friends.
We will forever be grateful for her life and the Godly example she set before us.
